Pay: TBD by Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs
Hours: 20 hours (some evenings and weekends)
Job Summary: The Multicultural Affairs Intern works to facilitate student learning about themselves and others by planning and coordinating educational programs, advising student groups, promoting leadership development, and helping to build community among students, particularly students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with relevant student organizations and other University constituencies to develop diversity partnerships and programmatic co-sponsorships
Assist in recruitment of underrepresented students
Assist with the development and implementation of academic success and retention initiatives such as Smart Club, peer mentoring programs, academic recognition reception, and others
Provide limited but consistent academic and social counseling for underrepresented students
Consult in the hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating of student workers
Contribute to the thorough and complete evaluation of Multicultural Affairs, including program evaluations and reflective portfolios
Manage website and publicity campaigns to promote the Multicultural Affairs Center, diversity programs, and student initiatives
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs
