Programs
Multicultural Affairs sponsors and cosponsors
between 50 to 100 programs each year.

Montage: A program held during
Truman Week for new first year
students. This program is
a fast paced variety show that addresses issues of
diversity. Performances range from skits, dance, song,
step, etc.

Directions: An orientation program
held during Truman Week for first-year underrepresented
students. The orientation is designed to help new
students learn valuable campus resources and to make
important connections.

First Sunday Dinners: Held monthly
in conjunction with our Heritage Month Celebrations,
these FREE dinners feature
home cooked food and fellowship for students. The
themed dinners feature typically guest speakers and
interactive activities that encourage integration and
exploration among students.

Heritage Month Celebrations: Celebrated monthly
throughout the academic school year, the MAC brings in a
variety of performers/speakers that educate, entertain
and inspire students to become engaged in cultural
exploration. We create partnerships with a faculty,
departments, divisions and campus offices in order to
provide strong, quality programming. Typically we
sponsor programming during the following months:
Hispanic Heritage (September/October),
Native American Heritage (November),
Black History Month (February), and Asian American
Heritage Month (April).

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration:
The celebration is
a week long remembrance of
Martin Luther King Jr.'s ideals of peace and unity.
During the week, students participate in a Unity
Program, a Read-In at local schools, a Symposium and
more activities that are designed to celebrate the life
and legacy of Martin Luther King.

collaboration with the Women’s Resource Center): a
multi-faceted program focused on women’s issues.
